This project was all about creating multifunctional spaces for busy parents. Both clients work from home off and on and have 2 active girls. Their home needed defined spaces that would allow for multiple uses.
We brought in Steven Fear to custom make a desk in the foyer that could be hidden behind doors when not in use. The doors conceal any messy office items while providing a beautiful feature for guests as they enter the home. He also made a buffet to match and connect the foyer with the dining room. This large piece connects the spaces without either feeling choppy or overfilled.
We added custom built-in cabinet treatments, a sit-to-stand desk, a TV wall with storage, and shelves for office items to the family room to create a productive office space for one of my two clients. To round out our renovations to this family space, we installed a built-in dog crate, created cubbies for each member of the family, and transformed the original drop zone into a bar with an ice maker, charging station, surveillance system, and a drawer for dog food. New furnishings and a fresh layout enable the family to connect from the kitchen, dining, and office space.
